Criminal Defense Lawyers
Specializing in DUI
Having significant experience in reading police reports, both as a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney, I can discuss the strengths and weaknesses of you case during your free legal consultation. While most OUI/DUI/DWI cases are worth fighting, and usually winnable, there are some cases where the facts in the report are stacked against you. You may not have the money or resources to take the chance of being found guilty. Or, you may choose to make a business decision and have me work out the best deal possible under the law in order to get your hardship license as quickly as possible.
In any event, NEVER PLEAD GUILTY WITHOUT A LAWYER. I often hear about defendants charged with OUI/DUI/DWI or other crimes in Massachusetts pleading guilty on their initial arraignment date, without first consulting with a lawyer. THIS IS NEVER YOUR BEST OPTION. Even if you wish to have the case disposed of as quickly as possible, pleading guilty at the arraignment will have collateral consequences for the rests of your life. Without a lawyer, no one is looking out for your interests. The prosecution is certainly not on your side, and the judge is not allowed to provide you with any legal advice- he/she must remain neutral. An experienced criminal defense attorney will make sure that your rights are protected and may be able to settle your case WITHOUT a criminal conviction. If resolving your criminal matter short of trial is the best option for you, Attorney Ben Urbelis is known throughout the state for settling OUI/DUI/DWI and other criminal offenses with the most favorable outcome to his clients allowed by law.
Contact my office if you’ve been charged with a Massachusetts OUI or any other criminal offense. I am available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for your free initial phone consultation.
